WATERWEED FOR TEA is an original reading experience for young children (and the not-so-young parents, grandparents and teachers who read them stories out loud).
The ten stories are about the adventures of the heroine, Alice, a neurotic vegetarian alligator and her worldly-wise friend Froggy, who

live in the swamps of Florida. All the characters in the stories in and out of Florida are engagingly illustrated by Philippa Foster.
The stories invoke life experiences that children will encounter as they grow up; tolerance, envy, death, friendship, fear, kindness, happiness, snobbishness, self-regard and so on. Each prose narrative is retold in rhyming verse to encourage children to love the sound and shape of words and attract them to the reading habit.
The stories were inspired by the soft animal toys collected by the author’s first grandson, Teddy.

A free Alice Jotter Pad is included in each copy of Waterweed for Tea.
